I know the good and the bad about your academic programs.

The PostCourse Process

PostCourse can be used in the following three-step process:

1. Design

Persons at each level of the organization (i.e. provost, dean, department chair, faculty) are able to design the survey  to ask the exact questions they consider appropriate.  While faculty members may opt to add their own items, the school level questions can be “locked down” so that they can not be modified.  If desired, schools can set up PostCourse so that individual faculty can not add custom questions.

PostCourse has on staff academics with decades of experience in collecting and interpreting student perception data who can provide assistance in designing the survey if needed.  A databank of 300 course evaluation items is also available to PostCourse clients.

In addition to allowing school leaders to ask questions, PostCourse also offers a feature through which students can ask questions back to the school.  After the student has completed the survey, they are asked if they would like to ask any questions back to the institution.  Schools can then route these questions to the appropriate person so that the student feels that their concerns are truly being addressed.  Schools can turn off this student question feature if desired.

2. Deliver

Students are prompted to complete the survey using the method considered best by the school.  Schools can automate this process by setting up PostCourse to automatically send out an email to the students on a specific date.  Schools could also choose to embed a link to PostCourse within their course materials.

Students access the PostCourse system and are allowed to only submit one anonymous survey per course in which they are enrolled.

Student submissions are totally anonymous.  Results are only reportable in aggregate.  Even through the export of raw data, variables which identify students are not associated with perception data.   The PostCourse authentication system does track which students have submitted surveys for which courses and reminder emails can be automatically sent out to non-respondents.

3. Download

To view reports, school leaders log into the administrative tools of PostCourse.  Through a system of role-based, tiered access they only have access to reporting at an appropriate level designated by the school.  Schools determine the ending date of the survey and after that the data is completely archived on our servers and a back up copy provided to the school for download.  Since the data is available immediately after the survey closes, school leaders can then begin to make necessary adjustments and improvements.
